Kayser Hall Added to Campus
Material for this Flashback was taken from A History of the University of Nebraska at
Omaha by UNO History Professor Tommy Thompson.
Not
long after Omaha University joined the University of Nebraska system, a serious
building campaign was initiated.
Beginning in 1969, the first effort in this
campaign was construction of a building for the College of Education. Named
Kayser Hall, it was completed in 1971 and dedicated Sept. 12 of that year.
Kayser Hall became the first building on the
Omaha campus to be built with state funds. Four stories tall and located on the
extreme northeastern edge of the campus, it is named after school benefactor
Frederick Kayser.
