Quarterback Club
From the Fall 1951 Injun Newsletter
OU second guessers now have the opportunity to
place their crystal gazing on a forum level with the formation of the new Omaha
University Quarterback Club.
With Harold Poff (49) as temporary chairman the
club meets every Monday noon at Omaha’s Hotel Fontenelle. Leading Omaha
business figures have shown an interest in the organization which will boost
interest in OU football fortunes.
Mr. Fred Dawson, Nebraska University coach
during the twenties, keynoted the purpose of the club by pointing out that
“regardless of the university you attended, as a citizen of Omaha, OU is ‘your
university’ . . . . what it is and what it becomes is your responsibility. You
make your living and home here. OU deserves your support!”
