Cadette Corps Begins This Month
This month your University becomes one of 10 in the nation
to initiate the Air Force ROTC Cadette (women's) "Pilot Program."
Enrolling on a voluntary basis, women students will assume
military responsibilities on a co-educational basis. Qualified coeds will be
commissioned second lieutenants in the Air Force Reserve upon graduation, and
will serve three years active duty.
Special uniforms and salary are planned for the women
reservists during their college training.
Other universities selected for the Cadette program
include Butler University, Indianapolis, Ind.; University of Maryland, College
Park; Miami University, Oxford, Ohio; George Washington University, Washington,
D.C.
Completing the list are Pennsylvania State University,
University Park; Southern Illinois University, Carbondale; University of
California, Los Angeles; University of Florida, Gainesville, and the University
of Texas, Austin.
