To The Troops:
Amy Lockhart, 2006,
of Omaha
|
Thank you all so much for
keeping our country safe. You put your lives on the line for people you don't
even know, and for some that don't believe in your cause. It has been said
that actions speak louder than words. I think the actions of all serving
speak loud and clear. Please look out for each other. Know that each and
every one of you is loved and respected for what you are doing. Please come
home safe.

Thank you for the service to our country. Our son
is in the Army, soon to deploy, and we are so very proud of all of our
service men and women serving in all areas of the world.
|
|
You
are all in our thoughts and prayers every day. Your safety and comfort are
uppermost in our thoughts. May you come home to be with your family and
friends. We are so proud of you.
|
Major Thomas A. Spencer, AUS (Ret.), 1971
|
First, I thank you for serving in a difficult time
and place. Those of us who served our multiple tours in Vietnam understand the
turmoil and difficulties involved in a conflict that seems to have no clear
direction and, perhaps at times, no purpose.
|
|
Always remember when you read about protesters to the
war, etc., that they are, for the most part, trying in their own way to support
you. Being against the war is a political choice we, as free people, can
always make, and that is what our military fights for—to give us that
freedom. Speaking out against the establishment does often support our troops
more than can be imagined.
Pressure
brought by some of the groups has resulted in increased emphasis on getting
up-armored Humvees, etc. Many of those who oppose the war are, indeed,
fighting for better overall conditions for our soldiers serving now and for
improved veterans' benefits.
Above all—be safe. Be careful. Take care of each other
and come home well. Continuous vigilance is especially necessary in this type
of conflict. Those of you in leadership positions, remember to look after
your subordinates and bring them home safe.
All the best to all of you. God bless.

"We are so proud that you all have decided to serve our
country and keep not only us but others in the world safe and free from the
oppression of those who sometimes seem, for lack of a better description, out
to destroy everything that is good and just. Please take care and stay safe,
and come back and share your experiences with us. Again, we are so proud of
you all, and we can't wait for you to get home."

"Thank You all for your protecting us from the
reality that is going on!"
